About Bhutan Tourism Board · Since 2007
A small Bhutanese team,
building careful trips
for travellers like you.
Family-run since 2007. Eight licensed guides, two drivers, and one office in Thimphu. We plan private journeys for travellers who want the country, not a checklist.
What We Believe
The country pays back the people who slow down for it.
Everything we do — the slower itineraries, the farmhouse dinners, the half-day buffer between cities — comes from that one observation.

The Founder
"I wanted to plan trips
the way I'd plan them for a friend."
Our founder grew up in Paro, trained as a guide in 2005 and started Tour Bhutan two years later — after realising most foreign agencies were selling the country like a postcard rather than introducing it like a place.
Today we are a team of eleven — eight guides, two drivers, and the office team in Thimphu. Most of our work comes from word of mouth and returning travellers, which is the only metric we've ever cared about.

Five things
that do not change.
These are the parts of the operation we will not negotiate on — not for speed, not for margin, not for scale.
-
01
Private trips, never groups One vehicle, one guide, one set of travellers. You set the pace, the stops and the sit-downs.
-
02
Bhutanese-owned, Thimphu-based No overseas resellers, no middlemen. Your money pays guides, drivers and hosts directly. Department of Tourism licence #2547.
-
03
Guides who live here Most of our guides grew up in the valleys you'll travel through. Their stories don't sound rehearsed because they aren't.
-
04
One person, end to end The person who answers your first enquiry is the person who plans your trip and meets you at Paro airport.
-
05
Safety is engineered, not improvised Vetted drivers, mountain-trained trek staff, oxygen on every high-altitude trek, written evacuation protocol.
